Coral Organza

tee: AE
cardigan: Urban Outfitters
jeans: H&M
shoes: Aldo
belt: DIY

So sorry I haven't been posting any outfits this past week. Don't worry, I have been getting dressed...but Michigan has been so cold lately I wasn't in the mood to think creatively.

There is no way I am ever spending $15 and buying the J.Crew flower pins ever again (see the last post for J.Crew pictures). I DIY-ed this one last night and even though it took me a while...it's so worth it (I did it while watching White Collar and Covert Affairs and got a little distracted...Oops). I put bobby pins on the back of my flowers so I can clip them anywhere - hair, shirt, ribbon belt, etc. So in the last post I made it from cotton but I think organza or chiffon looks much better and more...expensive?

Oh, and matching thread is a must!

I will show you guys the instructions I followed later. So excited to make more of these... Ha. J.Crew.

A different kind of nautical

Dress: American Eagle Flirty Striped Dress in Grey
Belt: Ribbon
Shoes: Martin & Osa

More stripes! At least this time it is not navy and white...Although there is also a slight nautical feel to this one. These are great summer colors because it is a  pale gray with thin white and salmon colored stripes. I guess this these are more 'untraditional' stripe because it is diagonal. I really like the material of this dress and the look of it. There is a slight sheen to it, but it is very subtle, so it just makes the fabric look fancier and less like a dress from AE? Another piece of clothing that can be dressed up or down :) So resourceful...haha.

I just realized today that I can convert the straps into a halter! Before this, I knew that I can take both off but I wasn't sure if it was long enough to use it as a halter strap...finally tried it today and it works!

15 & 16

Uggs are so warm. I'm so lazy. I guess I just haven't really been in the mood lately to think creatively.

Today I went to Wiard's Orchards with J. We ended up with 2 bags of Golden Delicious and Red Delicious apples. I wish the apples didn't cost extra though, it should be included in the tickets.  I also bought some apple cinnamon donuts and fresh apple cider. Hot apple cider in this chilly fall temperature will be delicious! There were so many cute little kids there (probably there for the petting zoo and games. haha)

We also walked around the corn maze. Just imagine going there in the dark.
Scary. I would never find my way out.

I wore several layers today because it was so cold...it looked okay when I put it on in my room.
Question of the day: do you punch someone when you see a:
VW beetle, a yellow car, or a yellow VW beetle?
happy fall.

Today was SO SO SO hot.
I took a nice afternoon nap. :) Then drank some British milk tea. Why is it that I never feel like drinking when I am working and can get it for free...sigh. It's always the case that 24 hours later, when I am not working, I crave it.

I really like the Jewel Petals Flower ring I got at Forever 21.
Reminds me of JCrew. But at 1/6 of the price.

I made the skirt following the same pattern as my other one

4!

I realized that the lighting in my room is very different from natural light...The colors kind of clashed when I left home for the art museum. I really really like this cardigan - the color & length. I wish I bought more before AE discontinued their Martin/Osa line.

Oh, and these leopard printed flats will be my #30.

Confession: I shopped :( but it was totally necessary as I do not have any black pumps for job hunting.

I am procrastinating already!

I don't really have time to write much. So I will just post my outfit.

I made this skirt following Tania's (What a Nerd Wears) tutorial. You can find it here. I modified it because I didn't want pockets but it was fairly simple to make. Just remember to choose the right type of material so it doesn't wrinkle  easily...(oops. need to keep this in mind).

I have three layers on top because of Michigan's very unpredictable weather. It was COLD this morning, low 50s? Ugh. What is wrong with this weather. I like my surroundings to be consistent, at least for periods of time.

The lighting on the 6th floor of the business school is always amazing :)

Okay. Got to go.

Bye!
